The Southern California Division hosted the Junior Olympic Qualifiers this past weekend at Crossroads School in Santa Monica, CA. Our fencers who are not already qualified fenced in the event to see if they will also be traveling to Cleveland, Ohio in February 2016.
Our Junior Men's Epeeists took 2 spots and the Gold and Bronze! Aidan Kung qualified for both Junior Men's Epee and Cadet Men's Epee by finishing first and beating Luke Sirand in the finals. Will Campos also qualified for Junior Men's Epee and earned his C15 rating by taking the Bronze. In Junior Women's Epee, Jamie Bang and Emily Beihold both took the bronze and qualified for Junior Women's Epee. In the Cadet event, Irene Yeu placed first and qualified for Cadet Women's Epee. Artem Bortnik placed third and qualified for Cadet Men's Epee. Stafford Moosekian, still in Y12, fenced amazingly well and missed qualifying by one place and finished 5th in the event earning his E15! Congrats to all our fencers for competing and earning some new ratings. Great job! Full Results www.tinyurl.com/SoCalJOQ2015
