Collegiate Fencing
Did you know that fencing can give you a real advantage in getting into a top college?
Fencers who succeed fencing at a national level have a distinct advantage when applying to colleges. Most of the top colleges in the United States, such as Yale, Princeton, Harvard, Cornell, University of Pennsylvania, and Notre Dame, recruit fencers for their NCAA teams. Even if your fencer does not compete at that level, it is still an advantage to list fencing on the college application. Colleges understand the challenges fencers face as they balance practices and competition with their school work, Fencing often helps students learn to strategize, plan ahead, and organize their time, Additionally, there are many colleges who look to support their fencing teams outside of the NCAA, Division 2 and Division 3 colleges, and many colleges support intramural clubs.
