Carl Borack SYC 2016 Results

The first day of the first Carl Borack SYC 2016 was the first day of events for Swords Fencing Studio where we medaled (got top 8) in every event that Swords fencers participated in, so yay Swords! In Y10 Women's 

epee, Zoe Kim got her first SYC medal and won her first Direct Elimination bout to get 8th place! Woohoo! Honorable mention to Isabel Kim who fenced well for just a beginner!
The Y14 Men's Epee event was tough, but 2 out of 2 of our participating fencers placed in the top 8 out of over 40 fencers! Chris Kim took home the Bronze after losing a close 14-15 bout with Daniel Shifron and Stafford Moosekian placed his highest SYC finish with a 6th place medal after losing to a tough Philly fencer! They did great!!!
The 2nd day we had a Silver medalist in 

the Y12 Men's Epee event with Stafford Moosekian who takes home 2 medals over the course of the weekend! Great job! Honorable mentions to Rowen Hicks who lost to teammate Stafford and to Edward Lee who put up a hard bout with Matthew Dao from Nevada.
On the 3rd and longest day, we started off with Y10 Men's Epee. Darius Kim and Thien Scofield both placed 7th and 8th, earning their first SYC medals! Honorable mention to Daniel Oganesian who shows such promise and fenced in his first SYC ever!
In the Y14 Women's Epee event, Irene Yeu 

took home the Bronze medal as well after losing a close bout 13-14 to Sophie Brill. Honorable mentions to Lexiss Morgan and Alice Oganesian who put up good fights in their early fencing careers! 
Overall we had a great showing with a Silver, 2 Bronze, a 6th, 7th, and 2 8th place medals!

The National Fencing Club Rankings put out a report and Swords Fencing Studio earned the top ranking as the best performing club for Youth Men's Epee at the Carl Borack SYC! Great job to all our fencers!!!
