Torrey Pines 2017 RYC Results

Super Bowl weekend turned out to be a great weekend for the Patriots and Swords overall. Over the 3 day tournament, Swords came away with a total of 12 medals, 3 of them GOLD! 

On Day 1 in the Y10 Men's and Women's Epee, all 3 of our participants earned medals! Our youngest fencers paved the way for a great weekend!

On Day 2 in the Y12 Men's and Women's Epee, we earned a total of 6 medals! Lauren McLane took home a great sword trophy and the GOLD medal! Marie Voskanyan earned another top 8 with her 8th place finish! In the Men's Epee event, Jackson Norbutas took out teammate Darius Kim in the 16s, then took out teammate Aaron Liang in the semis, to move into the finals where he fought hard and came home with the Silver. Aaron Liang earned the Bronze, Y10 fencer Christopher Dekermanji earned his first Y12 medal with a 6th place finish, and Saam Mohebi placed 7th! Great job everyone!

On Day 3 in the Y14 Men's and Women's Epee, we brought home 2 Gold medals and 2 of the sword trophies! Brian Ferrante fenced well and came out 1st in pools, but lost to teammate Stafford Moosekian in the 8s, who then went on to win the Gold! Irene Yeu finished in 1st for the 3rd time this season to secure her Y14 RYC patch! Great job to all!
